Step Up for Students still accepting enrollments
If you have not applied for a scholarship for the 2012-13 school year, you are encouraged to act quickly. Once you have applied, be sure to check the status of your application each day. Step Up will inform you of what is required at each stage of the process but checking each day is the best way to make sure you have submitted all necessary paperwork.
The maximum award for the 2012-13 school year is $4,335. Also, you may have heard that there have been significant changes to the eligibility guidelines. The scholarship will now be available to all income-eligible students who are entering grades K-5 no matter where they attended school the previous year. Under the old law, income-eligible students in grades 2-12 had to attend a Florida public school the previous year. Under the new law, that requirement is limited to grades 6-12. Visit the Step Up for Students website for complete information regarding all the new changes.
Parents are welcome to use the computers in the ECS Family Life Center and if you need to fax anything to Step Up, we will gladly assist you in the front office.
