Q: How do I apply and register my child for consideration at ECS?

A: You can register your child by calling the school at 727-845-0235 to set-up an appointment for a welcome tour.  Application forms are available on-line. You may print them out and complete them to submit either before or after your campus visit.

Once the tour is completed and you have your initial questions answered, you will want to submit your child’s grades, transcripts and standardized test scores for review.  After our Administration reviews the material, they will contact you to set up an interview to meet you and your child.

Q: What are the school requirements for enrollment?

A: The following are the initial requirements for enrollment consideration:

Submit a parent personal copy or official copies of the last 2 years of report cards (current year and previous), a copy of the most recent standardized academic test – the previous two tests are preferred. (FSA/FCAT, SAT, ITBS, CAT, Terra Nova, etc.)  Copies of BOTH the birth certificate and Social Security Card are required.  These two items are proof of birth date, legal name and identy. School cumulative records are confidential and become a legal document for identification purposes. These items are required by our school for all enrolled students.

Q: If classes are full, how do I get my child on the Waiting List?

A: Submit the same items listed above along with a completed New Student Application.  They will be reviewed and screened for initial eligibility. No formal interview will be conducted until a position opens.  At that time the school will contact you to set up the next step and a family interview.

Q: What grade levels are offered?

A: We offer classes from Kindergarten all the way through high school, Grade 12.  Our qualifying upper classmen also take Dual Enrollment classes, either on-line or at PHSC and SPC, which earn both HS and college credit.

FBC Elfers also sponsors Elfers Christian Pre-School, which offers 1 year old care through VPK for 4 year olds. – Call 727.848.1310 and speak to the PS Director for details on VPK and ELC.

Q: Does the school require each student to wear a uniform?

A: ECS has a standard “dress code” which is comfortable, modest and appropriate for the school setting.  Please see the Student Handbook for details for each grade level. The SHB is available at www.ElfersChristianSchool.org

Q: Which Christian denomination does the school belong to?

A: Our School is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Elfers.  FBCE is a Southern Baptist Church, however our school’s Statement of Faith is not specifically denominational, nor do we emphasize a denominational expectation.  Elfers Christian School is open and evangelical in admission, mission-minded in ministry, Great Commission driven in practice and Biblically conservative in our basic theology.  Our Bible curriculum is always open for review to our parents.  Admission to ECS is open to all families of faith.  However, we are distinctively Christian in our emphasis and generally conservative in practice.  We normally have nearly 50 different local churches represented in our student body and Eagle Family.  Our faculty comes from several, local churches of like faith.  We embrace our greater Christian community and welcome the opportunity to join with families to disciple their children in the “nurture and admonition of the Lord.”  You will find a loving, but firm emphasis in a caring environment to raise your children in when it comes to morals, character, behavior, practice and Biblical Christian World & Life View principles.

Q: How do I get to your school?

A: You can click on the following LINK to get detailed driving directions to the school.  We are just off the NE corner of SR 54 and Grand Blvd. in New Port Richey.

Q: Which curriculum does the school use?

A: The elementary division uses the ABeka curriculum as its primary instructional resource, which is one of the best Christian educational curriculums available.  The High School also uses ABeka materials, along with other quality curriculums that meet our “college preparatory” and honors level instructional goals in the classroom.  Additional publishers incorporated into our ECS Curriculum are Positive Action for Christ, Summit Ministries, BJU Press, Pearson and Glencoe to name a few.

Q: What other classes do you offer in addition to the regular academic subjects?

A: We offer Music, Art, P.E., Archery, Computer and Foreign Language at various grade levels.

Q: What athletic opportunities are available?

A: Our elementary students K5 – 5th enjoy a mini-season for intra-mural sports, typically in the spring.  This may include basketball and/or indoor soccer.

For our older student-athletes ECS has a JV and Varsity level sports program for Middle & High School Students.  We compete in the Suncoast Christian Conference and other private school sports leagues.

G-Volleyball, B&G- Basketball, B&G- Soccer, Golf, Cross Country.

Q: Which academic associations is the school a member of?

A: Our School is a member of FACCS (Florida Assoc. of Christian Colleges & Schools) & AACCS and our teachers attend the annual FACCS Educators Convention.  We professionally fellowship with ACSI schools and attend local conferences and seminars for professional development.  ECS is not specially accredited with either association. That is not required in the State of Florida.  Our high school students have full transfer reciprocity with ECS core and elective credits in order to transfer to or from all of our Pasco County High Schools, as well as other high schools statewide.

Our ECS High School graduates qualify for the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship. College acceptance of ECS Graduates in the State of Florida has been open and fully available to our students.  Our graduates have been accepted to virtually all of Florida’s state universities and colleges; USF, UF, FSU, UCF, Florida Gulf Coast Univ.,  Flagler College, Pasco-Hernando State College and St. Petersburg SC to name a few.  Local and out of state private colleges our alumni have been accepted to have been Liberty Univ., Pensacola Christian, Trinity Bible College, Palm Beach Atlantic and Southeastern College.  ECS is also proud to have an Air Force Academy appointment.  Please call our Guidance Counselor for any specific inquiry or college you may be interested in having your student attend in the future.

A: The School accepts the Step-Up for Students or the AAA Scholarship programs.
